Key collection rules from HDB 

When is HDB/BTO key collection?

The keys to your flat will be ready for collection when the project is complete. You’ll collect the keys to the flat 6 months after you sign the lease when you book a completed flat.

Balance Payment

You must pay the full purchase price and sales tax in full before you can collect the keys.

Stamp duty and legal fees

You have to pay a fee when you collect the keys. Stamp duty and registration fees can be paid on the Deed of Assignment.

Home Protection Scheme (HPS)

When buying a home, it’s good to protect yourself by getting mortgage-reducing insurance from the CPF Board.

You’ll need to be insured under HPS to use your CPF Ordinary Account savings to pay your monthly loan.

Fire insurance

You must buy a fire insurance policy because you will be paid a lump sum if there is a fire at your rental flat.

Contra Payment Facility

The Contra Payment Facility provides an additional loan on top of your housing loan. If you need the net proceeds from the sale of your current flat to cover the shortfall, it makes up the shortfall in funds.
